Consider a little Latin: Tabula Rasa - (Latin: blank slate) refers to the epistemological thesis that individual human beings are born with no innate or built-in mental content. In a word, we are “blank” at birth, and the entire resource of knowledge that we will obtain, while here on the planet, is built up gradually from the experiences and sensory perceptions of the outside world around us—the physical realm and its distractions.
We all start as a blank slate. It’s our experiences that shade our perceptions, inform our being and cause us to be in constant motion of some kind. Now this behavior feeds right into our innate—maybe even primitive—desire to search for happiness. Unless something’s gone horribly wrong, most of us want to be comfortable and happy. In today’s world, we don’t necessarily do that in the ways we used to. Ours IS a “brave new world” and since we didn’t stop that train, we must now learn how to live on it.
I.E. most of us want more money.
No, I do not believe that money is the “be all and end all” but it sure makes the journey EASIER! When did it become a sin to not want to HAVE to do things the hard way? It doesn’t ALL have to be hard. I should be able to pick and choose my battles! When I want to work hard at something, I should be able to do so and not be conscripted—yes, “shang-haied”—into forced labor not of my choosing!
/soapbox… sorry.
Anyway…
So, basically, what we have here, is a desire to change careers. Well, unless you already HAVE money, you aren’t going to be able to do it overnight. You still have bills to pay. You still have a life to live and responsibilities to own up to. Of some sort, or other, it’s your life, you know what your issues are.
But, not only do you have that, you also have an education to engage in.
Yeah, that’s right. You need to give yourself some time to learn how to do this. Internet Marketing is NOT any way to make an overnight fortune. There are fortunes to be made, have no doubt! But to expect to make money—ANY amount of money—in an hour, a day, a week, a month… no, that’s insane! It would be like asking a 5 year old to paint a Masterpiece ala Michelangelo. Ain’t happenin’! A 5 year old simply does not have the skills to paint like the Master.
Why not? Because he’s only 5 years out from a blank slate.
I know I’m going a long ways, here, to make a point, I hope you’ve hung on with me thus far.
Bottom Line: You need to go to school again if you want to make this venture into Internet Marketing a successful one. You simply don’t know how to paint the Sistine Chapel yet!
/soapbox… really, this time, for sure.
Okay. So, our first impression of network marketing is one of magic and wonder. We see huge checks and financial dreams realized for other “regular” folks and in that moment we see that possibility for ourselves. “Hey! That looks like something I could do and not have to give up my onerous chores until I’m ready and able to unshackle myself… that is, until I can support myself in this other way!” It looks easy, certainly easier than what we ARE doing at the moment, perhaps.
In that instant, our lives are forever transformed. A new journey begins.
Now, we’re incredibly impressionable at this point in our development. We look for leadership and follow the advice we’re given quite blindly for better or worse. And it follows—success stories are created as well as failures.
But, no matter where you are now, understand that each day we begin anew – and as there is an equal opportunity for new troubles to surface, there follows, also, an equal opportunity for new successes.
The choice is yours. Success is going to require education, patience and perseverance.
